Waterloo offers 14 engineering programs, including degrees in emerging multidisciplinary fields such as biomedical, nanotechnology, and environmental engineering. What really makes Waterloo unique however, is our world renowned co-op program. No other school quite prepares its graduates for life as a practicing engineer, thanks to the University’s partnerships with employers from around the globe. Every student finishes their degree with up to six 4-month co-op placements, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in the field of their choice. As Canada’s largest engineering school and “Silicon Valley of the North” we are also a hub for innovation and creativity. We pride ourselves in providing an entrepreneurial environment for all students, with over 500 startups linked to Waterloo to date. Being a Waterloo engineer puts you in a very unique, and fast paced academic situation, and allows you to truly explore what it means to be an engineer.
